we have a Problem with the SIM Detection by the Telit GE865.
We have a Sim Holder with no Card Detect Pin, the Pin on The Module is on Ground (see App Note).
We Simulate the SIM Insertion with AT Comands on The Module.
The SIM VCC Rise up to 3V and fall after 1 Second to Ground.
The Module say "No Card Insert".
What can we do?
When you connect SIMIN (B7) to ground, the module believes SIM card is in, even if it is not.
The module begins the communication with SIM and in case the one is not physically present, it will stop the communication and provide the error message.
Could you please elaborate on the next sentence: "We Simulate the SIM Insertion with AT Comands on The Module". You should actually insert the SIM card, not just to simulate it.
Please let me know if you need any further clarifications.
The SIM Card is in the Holder, we have the Pin SIMIN directly connectet to ground.
The Real State of SIMIN = 1 (Instert)
and the Simmulation dos not bring a better result.
The Communication start to the card and after few seconds the communication is abort.
Can we get a trace (Debug) from the Telit Module to get mor infomations about the problem from the Module directly?
We heave read in a internet forum, an he write it is a firmware bug... is this possible?
I believe the issue related to the SIM interface design. I have already seen this before.
The module cannot succeed communicating with the SIM card, therefore it shuts down the communication after a short while.
Please follow the link and download SIM Integration Design User Guide for the details: http://www.telit.com/en/products/gsm-gprs.php?p_id=12&p_ac=show&p=47
It is definitely not a firmware bug, you can easily validate it on Evaluation Kit (EVK2) and confirm the good performances.
I would also recommend to submit your electrical design to the Telit support desk at email@example.com
One of our support engineers will review it and contact you with the further recommendations.
Hi Thomas, what about to give me a call on +49-5032- 80199-85.
I will share my 25+ years in wireless and 15+ years in GSM and GPS with you. The last 8 years I have used Telit modules only. I assume that I have much longer experience in GSM application than any other support engineer at Telit. BTW at my blog http://www.gsm-module.de and my Google+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/104073440961325292775/posts I make tips and hints for wireless application public each two weeks.
Best regards from North of Germany
