Hi all. I am in the process of developing a M2M solution and I have a pretty simple question here. What is the best way or source to build a gateway that will intercept raw data from a mobile device. I will be using different types of devices so this will require a port# for each type of device, but I will still use the same IP. I will be using a Linux Machine. UDP Protocol. Would it be best to use a XML Database, SQL, tcpdump? Not quite sure because I'm new to the Software Application Development side. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't necessarily need a development kit because I have my own SIMS and devices. I just need a little guidance on how to start up a Gateway to intercept the Raw Data.
At Jasper Wireless, we do quite a bit of debugging using TCP Dump and Wireshark. These are good if you need to examine the IP traffic, but won't help you debug any wireless issues. Jasper enabled platforms like AT&T provide additional tools for debugging most common wireless problems as well.
