I see. I have a client, a MNO in Mexico, and they dont have a clear idea how to charge the M2M service, they dont know if they should charge for the data connection and for the platform. In Mexico, the only operator that publishes its M2M data plans, by line or by pool is Movistar and the prices according to my client are quite low , implying that they may charge an adititonal fee for the platform.
If there is only one fee, what percentage corresponds to the platform then? or is it just a VAS without cost? Due to the different solutions, the data usage may vary as we all know, does this has any impact in the use of the platform ?
As far as I know, non of the MNO's in Mexico are charging extra for the M2M platform use. It's basicaly considered by the users a free of charge/value added service. However it'd be up to your client's business model and the value proposition they decide to offer.
I don't see a direct correlation of the data usage vs the use of the platform, at least not in terms of a variable cost/price for the platform.
Hi, if you use the solution provided by NexM2M including our global SIM you don't pay for the platform, but you can also lease the platform and make your own operator integration, just as we announced today Datatrade will do, http://www.nextm2m.com/nextm2m-and-datatrade-to-deliver-advanced-m2m-solutions-worldwide/#.TzKhs5jHFUQ
