PTCRB ECO Process Changes

Curtis Govan Expert

For those of you who have certified integration devices with PTCRB, you'll be please to hear that the ECO process for Integrations was recently updated.  The new process reduces time and removes the costs associated with doing Integration ECOs, when the ECO involves only an update to the module's hardware or firmware or the Integration's application software.  For these cases, no PTCRB lab review is required, so the time savings can be several weeks, and the cost savings could add to several thousands of dollars over the life of the device.

In addition to reducing costs, time and improving efficiency, the new process also makes it much easier to comply with the PTCRB requirement to do ECOs for software changes.
